Sidney and Salt Spring Trip

I wanted to post some pictures from my trip to Sidney Spit and Salt spring Island and this just seemed like the best venue. Anyway, I spent my first night in Sidney spit marine park ( which now has a new name I think) but it was really cool. It has one of the largest salt water lagoons in BC as well as a really long sand spit and sand beaches. The island used to be owned by one family who introduced a number of new animals including these european deer which were everywhere. I also saw sea otters (6 of them) and tons of herons and swallows (who dive bombed me at one point which was both cool and a little scary.) I camped in a large meadow that the deer came out on at dusk. The next day I went to Ganges on salt spring island. The town was a little too commerical for me but very pretty none the less. The next day I biked to Ruckle Provincial park on Salt Spring. It is the site of one of the oldest farms in BC. It is an amazing spot. You can tour the old homestead area and there is still a working farm there that the Ruckle family still works. There is also a large forest section but the camp ground is on an open meadow that looks out over a major sea channel in the gulf islands. it is a really beautiful spot and you can watch all of the boats sail by. I also saw a seal and a deer there as well. Overall an amazing trip!

- Well there is a very breif description of my trip, and please ignore any spelling mistakes that I have made.
